Election of Directors will take place at the Annual General Meeting in December.
ELIGIBILITY
You are eligible to make an application for the position of Director if you meet the following criteria:
Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
At least 19 years of age
Legally competent to conduct business and enter into contracts
SVI member in good standing
Not an SVI employee
WHAT ARE THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN SVI DIRECTOR?
Subject to the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act, 2010, the SVI Board of Directors actively manages or supervises the management of the activities and affairs of SVI.
Directors are active members of the Board’s committees and work in SVI’s best interests, contributing to its culture, strategic focus, effectiveness, and financial stability. They ensure that SVI’s mission and vision are followed and serve as SVI’s ambassadors and advocates.
Directors are expected to attend Board meetings, with approximately 50% of these meetings held in person. Their active participation in these meetings is crucial for effective governance and decision-making.
