The Ukrainian Book Club, co-presented by St. Volodymyr Institute and the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, Ontario Branch, is led by Sofiia Andrushchak. This club offers an opportunity to explore Ukraine’s literary heritage through thoughtful discussions and historical context.
Each meeting will be guided by Sofiia Andrushchak, featuring discussions on selected works, mini-lectures on historical background, and relevant artifacts from the Museum. The first session will focus on the theme of freedom, with The Princess by Taras Shevchenko and The Kozak Girl by Marko Vovchok.

About Sofiia Andrushchak
Sofiia Andrushchak is a History and Literature student at the University of Toronto. She is the founder and host of the history podcast "What We Need to Know About Ukraine" and is working as a Research Assistant at the University of Toronto and as a Youth Ambassador with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress. Sofiia was also an intern at the Ukrainian Museum of Canada, Ontario Branch in the summer of 2024. As the host of the Ukrainian Book Club at the St. Volodymyr Institute, Sofiia brings her passion to guide participants through Ukraine’s literary and historical landscape.
